JYP Nation reveals making-of video from their Japan concert poster-shoot

On July 20th, JYP Nation released some making-of footage from the set of their concert poster photoshoot from last month.
JYP Nation will be heading to Japan for their ‘JYP Nation in Japan 2011‘ concert at Tokyo’s Saitama Super Arena. The members gathered together for the first time in six months to shoot a family portrait for the concert poster. As there were many artists and staff on set, the photoshoot carried on amidst a busy, yet excited atmosphere that was reminiscent of a family gathering.
All of JYP Entertainment’s artists – including J.Y. Park, Lim Jeong Hee, Wonder Girls, JOO, 2AM, 2PM, miss A, and San E – will be heading to Japan for their concert on August 17th and 18th. Anticipation is running high, as it’s being boasted that the concert will be an upgrade from last year’s JYP Nation concert, especially now that 2AM is in the lineup.
A JYP Entertainment representative stated,

“Following the end of last year’s JYP Nation concert, which opened with the support of 10,000 audience members, this summer concert will open again in a larger scale in Japan, and will continue the legacy of fun and creative inspiration. We are preparing a more upgraded performance, so please anticipate the concert.“

allkpop presents: Girl’s Day “Hug Me Once” Contest! On July 20, 2011

Two weeks ago, Girl’s Day released the MV for their comeback track, “Hug Me Once“, and the video shook up the music industry with its innovative format. The MV was the first of its kind, an interactive K-Pop music video, where fans were able to choose different versions of the MV as well as various endings.
Because it’s such a unique music video, we at allkpop thought it would be fun for fans to showcase their talent and creativity by creating an alternative ending to the music video’s ‘Game Version’!

Here’s how to enter:
1. Watch Girl’s Day’s “Hug Me Once” music video and check out all of the various endings in the ‘Game Version’
2. Create your own alternative ending! There are no limits to creativity here, you can choose to be your favorite member, a new member of Girl’s Day, a new boy member, an alien, a dog, or whatever else you think will make you the winner.
3. Upload your alternative ending to YouTube (title it: allkpop x Girl’s Day “Hug Me Once” Contest) and then email us the link to: hugmeonce@allkpop.com
4. Deadline: 11:59 EST on August 12th, 2011!

And that’s it! We will be picking 10 winners, who will each receive an autographed copy of Girl’s Day’s first official mini-album ,”Everyday,” and an autographed poster! In addition, the top two entries will also receive a super cute 2GB MP3 player!

Stylish artist, K Jun releases rock single, ‘Haeundae’ On July 20, 2011

Singer-songwriter K Jun finally released his refreshing new single, “Haeundae“.
The rockabilly style of K Jun takes you way back into the 50’s with group chorus vocals and amplified electric guitars, both heavily influenced by the King of Rock n’ Roll, Elvis Presley. Not to mention, his geled back hair and thick sideburns.
The music video captures the party scene stirred up by K Jun’s band on the hot sands of, none other than Korea’s landmark beach in Busan, Haeundae. It doesn’t take a bachelor’s degree to figure out that people surrounding the band are having fun, letting loose, and enjoying the sun.
K Jun boosts up the atmosphere with his flawless vocals and easy-to-follow chorus line which repeats, “Haeundae, Haeundae, Haeundae,” encouraging those who are lazily sitting by their desktops to get up, hop on the train, and head to the beach.
K Jun and his posse then head out to find beautiful girls to assist their sides but unlike his bros, K Jun get his girl snatched away by her girl friend. However, K Jun doesn’t mourn for long, as a beauty in a little black bikini asks him to help her oil her body, culminating in the perfect Beauty and the Beast ending.
This upbeat song is perfect for a drive to the beach with friends, or even back at the office, secretly air-guitaring, while dreaming of the perfect escape from your tiny cubicle reality. Heads will bob, hands will be thrown up into the air, and hearts will throb as girls in colorful bikini’s stir some major hormonal changes. Don’t say I didn’t warn you when you find yourself doing the accordion dance to the beats of the song.

2PM’s “Give It To Me” used on the soundtrack for “Blind” On July 20, 2011

2PM’s song “Give It To Me“, written by member Junho, was chosen as one of the original soundtracks for the movie “Blind“.
This is a great opportunity for Junho to grow as a singer- songwriter.
“Blind” is Korea’s first human thriller movie where the only witness of a horrible murder is a person who is visually impaired. Sua, played by Kim Haneul, is visually impaired witness who helps the police investigate the incident by carefully depicting the incident until another witness comes into play.
Kisup, played by Yoo Seungho, is the 2nd witness to the crime and unlike Sua, Kisup had witnessed the incident happen with his eyes. The fight towards the truth begins as Kisup guides the police in a totally opposite allegation than Sua’s statement.

New artist Ju Heon reveals MV for “She’s My Girl” ft. Mi Pung On July 20, 2011

Love messenger with a trendy and popular sound. Introducing a new artist named Ju Heon, who has just released his first single album, “She’s My Girl“.
Before his official entry into the music scene, Ju Heon had previously performed at many clubs in both Korea and Japan. Additionally, he participated in the chorus line for artists such as Soul Star and Rumble Fish and companies such as Samsung Hauzen along with SK Telecom.
With an impressive falsetto and genuine, charismatic voice, he appeals to the public with his high quality music. The title song “She’s my girl” is a warning message to all men who would dare go after his attractive woman. At the same time, the song gives tips on how guys should know how to protect their own girl. The song’s refrain is so addictive and just by listening to it once, you can follow and sing along.
His music is garnering a lot of support and interest as members of Super Junior, Se7en, and many more have congratulated him on his first album via Twitter.
With his first single album “She’s My Girl”, Ju Heon’s story begins now.

Korean group Tohoshinki (TVXQ) took the stage on “HEY! HEY! HEY! Music Champ Special” and it was a rather futuristic stage, since they performed live at the opening event of the unique club ‘nicofarre‘.
The duo performed their newest song “Superstar” and with their smooth performance it was not only the audience in the club that could feel the heat.

SNSD performs “Genie” and “Bad Girl” on “HEY! HEY! HEY! Music Champ Special” On July 19, 2011

Today’s list of performers for Fuji TV’s “HEY! HEY! HEY! Music Champ Special” also included the Korean girl group Shoujo Jidai (SNSD) who charmed the viewers with two performances, live from their last concert of their Japan tour.
The nine girls first performed their hit song “Genie“, followed by an enchanting performance of “Bad Girl“. Both songs perfectly showed why they are gaining so much popularity in Japan. At the end of their performance they got to talk with host Hamada Masatoshi in the studio, but there wasn’t really much chit-chat going on, much to the amusement of Hamada.

f(x)’s Krystal gives a circus-themed performance on ‘Kiss & Cry’

Earlier, we reported that Kim Yuna had praised f(x)’s Krystal for her stunning performance on ice. On the July 17th broadcast of SBS’s ‘Kim Yuna’s Kiss & Cry‘, Krystal and her partner Lee Dong Hoon demonstrated a circus-themed performance to The Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams“.
The theme of the show was ‘friends’, so Krystal and her partner decided to cast Krystal’s fellow f(x) members. Krystal’s performance was full of difficult lifts, beginning with the mid-air swing lift.
Following this difficult move was yet another, with the ‘Tetris lift’, in which Krystal moves into a handstand, holding onto her partner’s skates.
They continued with the ‘necklace lift’, where Krystal wraps her body around her partner’s neck. Krystal revealed, “It isn’t scary because I trust my partner.”
Judge Kim Yuna commented,

“The skating was very good, but I feel that it was lacking color.
The lifts were a show of their own, and the skills demonstrated were enough for me to believe if someone said [Krystal] was an ice dancer.”

With this, Krystal and her partner received their highest score thus far with 37.3 points.

Park Jung Hyun, Kim Jo Han, & Yoon Do Hyun collaborate for The Eagles’ “Desperado”

On July 17th, singers Kim Jo Han, Park Jung Hyun, and Yoon Do Hyun made a surprise collaboration performance on MBC’s ‘I Am a Singer’!
The trio covered “Desperado“, a 1973 hit from legendary rock band, The Eagles. 
Although it wasn’t a song used for the actual competition, viewers were still delighted to hear the amazing cover the three managed to bring out together.
Viewers thought that Kim Jo Han and Park Jung Hyun’s R&B style fit well with Yoon Do Hyun’s deeper voice. Many left comments like, “I think we were able to enjoy the music more for what it is without all of the tension that comes with the competition”, and “The collaboration doesn’t seem like it would work at first, but it was one of the best stages with the best harmonies.”

After School completes debut Japanese showcase for crowd of 3,000

After School has successfully completed their debut Japanese showcase at the Akasaka in Tokyo.
Wearing their sexy emblematic outfits, the girls emerged on stage to a crowd of 3,000 fans, all cheering and applauding with excitement. The girls went on to perform their past hits, “Because of You“, “Shampoo“, “Let’s Do It“, and their upcoming Korean release, “Lady“.

‘BGH to’ unveils “Cotton Candy” music video

Rookie girl group ‘BGH to‘, who were previously awarded a rookie award for the month of June by Cyworld, have returned with their second digital single, “The C.C. – Cotton Candy“!
Like their lovable debut track, “I Love You!  I’m Always Happy!“, their second single’s lead track, “Cotton Candy“, is another song that aims to bring joy to listeners with its easygoing melody and sweet lyrics. Composed by Kim Doo Hyun, the song is a medium tempo ballad with an acoustic guitar sound and a rap featuring T-ara’s Eunjung.
Director Chang, who’s known for his work with the movie “Death Bell” and BGH to’s debut music video, took up the megaphone for “Cotton Candy”.
A representative stated, “T-ara’s Eunjung, who’s currently on a roll with ‘We Got Married‘ and ‘Roly Poly‘ promotions, actively set out to support the girls to further perfect the song.”
Just a day into its release, the song is currently ranked in the top three on caller ring charts and in the top 10 on digital music charts.
